Objectives

Overview of our goal

STRIDE aims to develop a new, comprehensive, and comparative knowledge base on effective education reforms, policy initiatives, and interventions that reduce inequalities in education, training, and learning outcomes across Europe.
More specifically, the project will identify reforms and interventions that help mitigate observed inequalities and it will formulate recommendations and a guide to good practices. This will be supported by an overview of significant national and regional education reforms implemented over the past 25 years.

Specific goals:

More goals of the STRIDE project include mapping trends of inequalities in student achievement over the past two decades in Europe and developing an interactive map that highlights key factors in policy development and student achievement that foster or hamper equity, inclusion and resilience. The project will also be delivering new knowledge on how other social policies may affect the learning outcomes of education policy initiatives through qualitative studies into policymaking in five countries and provide new insights into students’ progress in education systems by using knowledge drawn from longitudinal data.

The project will also develop a policy database with links between cross-sectoral policy making and the intersectional factors that affect intergenerational reproduction of inequalities in educational achievement. It will implement a comprehensive impact and dissemination strategy strategy to enhance public knowledge on the value of longitudinal data for policymaking and policy learning at both national and EU levels. It will also develop a toolbox of techniques to support cross-sectoral policymaking and the assessment of inequalities in education and training over time using longitudinal data.
