The STRIDE project continues its work in tackling educational inequalities by developing a toolbox for effective policymaking and assessment of inequalities in education under Work Package 6 (WP6). The toolbox bridges research findings and policy interventions, empowering policymakers with evidence-based tools to promote equity and inclusion across European education systems.
The primary objective is synthesizing research findings from earlier works into a practical, user-friendly toolbox that aims to provide policymakers with a detailed analysis of existing literature, longitudinal data, and proven methodologies to effectively assess and address educational inequalities.
One of the key milestones of WP6 is developing the toolbox structure that synthesizes research results from various STRIDE work packages such as policy analyses and meta-analyses, longitudinal trends in educational inequalities, and case studies from five countries (Denmark, Hungary, Norway, Poland, and the United Kingdom) offer insights into effective policy interventions. These findings are integrated into the toolbox to equip policymakers with the ability to analyze educational outcomes over time and design interventions that reduce inequalities. The toolbox also includes workshops with stakeholders and experts across Europe as part of this collaborative process designed to validate findings, incorporate diverse perspectives, ensure the toolbox is comprehensive and relevant to user’s needs, and bring together experts from education, labor, family policy, and other sectors, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to tackling educational inequalities. Additionally, the toolbox aligns with the interactive map to create a cohesive framework for understanding and addressing systemic disparities. It exemplifies the project’s commitment to ensuring its research translates into practical solutions.
The STRIDE project underscores its broader mission: to reduce educational inequalities and foster lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Stay tuned for further updates on the toolbox as STRIDE continues to lead the way in innovative, evidence-based policymaking.
