STRIDE Consortium Meeting Krakow

From May 26 to 28, 2025, the halls of Jagiellonian University in Krakow became the meeting ground for the latest Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the STRIDE project. This event brought together partners from across Europe, united in their mission to advance equity and inclusion in education and training systems.

Coordinated by OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University and funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, STRIDE is a research-driven initiative aimed at building a robust, comparative knowledge base on effective education reforms and policy interventions. The project focuses on reducing inequalities in learning outcomes by analysing large-scale educational assessment data and longitudinal studies that explore the links between academic and social policies.

Highlights from the Krakow Meeting

The two-day meeting opened with updates on recent project developments. Partners from Roehampton University (UK), OsloMet (Norway), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), VIA University College (Denmark), TARKI (Hungary), and Jagiellonian University (Poland) presented preliminary findings, offering valuable insights into the project’s evolving components.

Interactive workshops allowed participants to collaboratively refine the STRIDE toolbox for policy makers and map out key factors influencing educational equity. These sessions fostered dynamic exchanges and deepened the consortium’s shared understanding of the project’s goals.

Day two featured a series of sessions focused on qualitative research into cross-sectoral policymaking. Each partner presented case studies and data that shed light on effective policy initiatives and interventions. These discussions were instrumental in identifying strategies that can be scaled or adapted across different national and regional contexts.

In the afternoon, the Lifelong Learning Platform (Belgium) led a session on maximizing the project’s impact through strategic engagement. LLLP will work in tandem with partners to ensure the relevant messages reach out to policy makers (and all education and training stakeholders) and foster action to improve our education and training systems.
