STRIDE Relative Projects: BRiDGE

STRIDE shares common goals and synergies with the BRiDGE project, as both initiatives emphasise the importance of collaboration and evidence-based policymaking to promote inclusive and equitable education systems across Europe. Recently, the BRiDGE project finalised its second seminar series with a Peer Learning Activity (PLA) on December 5, 2024, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to develop transformative educational practices in (Global) Citizenship Education.

The BRiDGE project explores multi-stakeholder collaboration in the field of international mobility in education, opportunities and barriers in improving the research-practice-policy knowledge triangle as a basis for effective action through participation from European civil society organisations, national and regional agencies, and academic research and policymaking in the field of internationalisation in education. BRiDGE introduces the concept of a “learning mobility ecosystem,” which consists of the interrelated practices that enable mobility and the people who enact those practices. The project addresses the cultural, material, and socio-political arrangements that shape education systems by fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders. Through its work, BRiDGE promotes continuous adaptation and refinement of policies and practices to suit diverse contexts to ensure inclusion, equity, and resilience in education.

A key aspect of the BRiDGE project’s recent working paper, “The Challenges of Global Citizenship Education in Europe,” is to explore the different perspectives and experiences that focused on cross-community collaboration to improve policies (in the first seminar) and improve practices (in the second seminar) in Global Citizenship Education which plays a transformative role in education by equipping learners with the skills, values, and attitudes needed to address global challenges such as inequality, migration, and sustainability.

The BRiDGE’s seminars and working papers offer strategies for STRIDE to enhance its multi-stakeholder engagement and policy influence. They highlight the importance of building synergies across related projects to amplify impact. Both projects contribute to the broader European agenda of equitable and inclusive education for all by encouraging collaboration and integrating innovative approaches.
